Our kiwification

After staying in six different places in the last month, we now moved to the seventh, but more permanent one. We have found a home! It's a small furnished studio in Wellington's city centre, but it has everything we need, and it is ours, so we are very happy to call this place our home. And the biggest plus for me (Myrjam) is that it's 300m away from a huge art supply store! If anyone wants our address, just give us a shout.

So that's pretty much what we've been up to in the last week: looking for a place to live, and coming to terms with the super high rent prices here (even compared to Ghent). Other than that we've done a few relaxing things, but not much to report on. We've walked at the waterfront, and experienced how windy Welly gets, and we've visited Wellington's most famous creative company: Weta Workshop, known for creating most costumes and props for amongst other Lord of the Rings by hand! Unfortunately it wasn't possible to take pictures, so all nerds will just have to come and visit us if you want to see the marvellous stuff.

We've also finally taken the time to go into a New Zealand forest. The one we walked in had a strange combination of trees, with palm trees and pines right next to each other. But other than that, it had a magical, mystical Middle Earth feel to it, and it was a great diversion from all the other stuff that needed to happen.

What's up next?

Finding a job, probably, and retrieving some things we left in Auckland (we were totally planning to be back in Auckland by now). As for finding a job, unfortunately this isn't the best timing, as the summer holiday is upon us, and most companies go into slow time. Let's hope we don't have to resort to working at McDonalds! But of course, nothing is going to stop us from enjoying our kiwi summer!
